“Hey Britt!”

I paused as I was getting in the Benz. Who the fuck could it be? Niggas around here don’t know me like that. I looked back. Oh, it was Lance Jackman’s fine ass!

He was coming out of the tunnel door. I thought it was funny that I should see him. He’d been on my mind since I read that report at Dirt’s. Now he was mixed up in some nasty shit with Pooh. I had it all wrote down. Pooh made some serious allegations against my homeboy. To me, Pooh just had animosity.

I know Lance. Far as what I could remember, he was the non-violent type. Now that Joe-Joe Jackman was a fool!

I shut the car door.

“Hello Lance,” I said as he walked up. He was looking tall and handsome as usual.

“Damn you riding big!” He said eyeing the Benz. He looked back at me with a knowing look.

“My man’s whip,” I said wishing it was mine.

“Mister military man is eating! I’m about to holla at Uncle Sam,” Lance joked.

“Lance stop it!” I laughed then continued, “You silly.”

“Dead ass,” he replied with a smirk.

“It isn’t like that.”

“Oh what’s up?”

“I’m not with my husband anymore,” I replied with my matter-of-fact expression.

“I’m sorry to hear that,” he said showing genuine caring. Awe, he was so damn sweet.

“Thank you.”

“Well, I’m not gon hold you up longer. These fools will start gossiping.”

“I know right,” I laughed.

“Drive safely Britt,” Lance said and began to walk off.

“Lance!” I called out.

He stopped walking and turned back to face me. He was about a car length away.

“Yeah?” He said waiting for me to speak.

“Six, seven, eight, two, nine, one, o, o, four, two,” I shouted at him.

“O, o, four, two?” He asked.

“Yea, you got it right,” I smiled.

“I got you,” he said, then turned to leave.

“Lance,” I called out again. He turned back. “Give me a call it may be a call that saves your life.”
